CLYR, a pioneering environmental technology company and Unlimit Ventures portfolio company focused on indoor air quality solutions, announced today that it has been selected to join the next cohort of the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) accelerator program. This milestone marks a significant step forward in CLYR's mission to revolutionize how we understand and address indoor air pollution.

Supporting Climate Innovation and Environmental Health

LACI's accelerator program is designed to support cleantech companies that are developing breakthrough solutions to address climate change and environmental challenges. The program provides selected companies with mentorship, resources, and access to a network of industry experts, investors, and strategic partners.

CLYR's Innovative Approach to Indoor Air Quality

CLYR is developing an integrated technology platform that combines advanced sensor networks, machine learning, and environmental modeling to identify, classify, and mitigate indoor air pollution sources. Indoor air pollution is a critical but often overlooked environmental health issue, with people spending approximately 90% of their time indoors where pollutant concentrations can be 2-5 times higher than outdoor levels.

The company's comprehensive approach includes:

Integrated Data Dashboard: CLYR's data platform imports both public and private sensor data to perform sophisticated data contextualization and environmental risk analysis. This allows researchers, building managers, and residents to gain unprecedented insights into their indoor air quality in real-time.

Source Fingerprinting with AI: Using lab-trained machine learning models, CLYR can classify common indoor pollution sources with remarkable accuracy. This technology enables users to identify exactly where pollutants are coming from—whether it's cooking emissions, cleaning products, outdoor infiltration, or HVAC systems—allowing for targeted intervention strategies.

Real-World Pilot Studies: CLYR has deployed sensors in homes to illustrate and evaluate key use cases, including ventilation effectiveness, air filtration performance, and HVAC optimization. These pilot studies provide valuable data on how people actually experience indoor air quality in diverse living conditions.

Exposure Simulation Platform: Derived from their SBIR grant award, CLYR has developed virtual models of residential spaces to facilitate analysis and prediction of optimal intervention strategies for reducing exposure. This platform allows stakeholders to test different scenarios and solutions before implementing costly changes.

Building on Recent Momentum

This LACI acceptance follows CLYR's recent Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant award, demonstrating continued recognition of the company's innovative approach and potential impact. The combination of federal research support and LACI's accelerator resources positions CLYR to rapidly advance its technology and expand its reach.

The Path Forward

As part of the LACI cohort, CLYR will work to refine its technology platform, expand pilot deployments, and develop strategic partnerships that can help bring indoor air quality solutions to communities across California and beyond. The company's work addresses the impact of critical environmental issues resulting in exposure to indoor air pollution.

CLYR's participation in the LACI accelerator program represents an important step toward making healthy indoor environments accessible to all.
